Day 2: It was too hot to sleep in tents, so we each laid our sleeping bags out on picnic tables at Furnace Creek Campground for about 2 hours of sleep. We accidently got up at 1 AM, then officially got up again at 2 AM, trying to ride in the 'cool of the night'. It was still 96 degrees.
